Recipe -
Ingredients:

For the Pitta:
* 2 wholemeal pitta breads
* 2 pittas
* 1 tablespoon of olive oil
* 1/2 teaspoon paprika
* 1/2 garlic powder
* Salt to taste

For the Harissa Hummus:
* 1 can (400g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
* 2 tablespoons tahini
* 1 lemon
* 2 tablespoons harissa paste (adjust to your preferred level of spiciness)
* 1 garlic clove
* 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
* Salt to taste

Directions

For Pitta Chips:

*Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

*Cut the pitta breads into triangles or bite-sized pieces.

*In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.

*Toss the pitta pieces in the seasoned olive oil until evenly coated.

*Spread the pitta pieces in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

*Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the pitta chips turn golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

*Once done, remove the pitta chips from the oven and let them cool.

For Harissa Hummus:

*In a food processor or blender, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, harissa paste, minced garlic, ground cumin, and a generous pinch of salt.

*Blend the ingredients until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water gradually until you achieve your desired consistency.

*Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more harissa paste if you prefer a spicier kick.

*Transfer the harissa hummus to a serving bowl.

To Serve:

*Arrange the crispy pitta chips around the bowl of harissa hummus.

*Garnish the hummus with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of chilli flakes or harissa powder.

*Serve the pitta chips with harissa hummus as a delicious and spicy snack or appetiser.

*Enjoy your homemade pitta chips with harissa hummus, a delightful combination
